SHROPSHIRE'S NONCONFORMIST CHAPELS

Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Ifton Heath, St.Martin's
Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Ellesmere Road, Ifton Heath, St. Martin's

This chapel which has no datestone or commemorative stone, was opened in December 1914, and replaced the previous chapel on the same site which had been built in 1856 as a United Methodist Free Church. The foundation stone was laid on Easter Monday on 13th April 1914 and the chapel opened on Thursday 17 December of that year. It was built at a cost of about £1500 including the cost of the demolition of the old brick chapel. It is still in use as a Methodist Chapel in 2023.
