The local Primitive Methodists had a cottage meeting here before building a chapel in 1869. Earl Granville gave the site on which to build a chapel and the foundation stones were laid on Monday 20th September 1869. The chapel cost about £200 to build and would seat about 150 worshippers. The chapel closed c. 1925 and was demolished in 1926.
